El Congreso aprobó con 91 votos una nueva regulación a las apuestas y juegos deportivos que se realizan a distancia. La iniciativa indica que con esto aplicará un impuesto de 12% a las apuestas por internet, mismo porcentaje que se aplica a la actividad de casino y máquinas tragamonedas. Iván Alonso asesor de la Asociación Peruana de Apuestas Deportivas, indicó en entrevista para 24 Horas medida, que ellos reciben como buena opción la ley aprobada, pero tienen un disgusto por el trato desigual que se tiene con las casas de apuestas. “Es un trato desigual a las casas de apuestas porque solo se estaría aplicando el impuesto paras las casas de apuestas que cuentan con una sucursal en el país, mas no para las casas extranjeras que no figuran con sucursal en el Perú, esa es la preocupación de la asociación, porque los usuarios migrarían a las casas extranjeras". Según relata Alonso que el impuesto se descontaría del sobre el ingreso neto del premio total, el cual la casa de apuesta tendría que tomar en cuenta al momento de efectuar el pago. Asimismo, señala que esto implicaría que los usuarios, viéndose el descuento de su premio, estarían obligados a migrar a casas extranjeras que se les exonera este cobro. “Los usuarios podrían jugar por internet en casa de apuestas extranjeras, dada que estas no tienen sucursal en el Perú. Esto a la larga, se vería reflejada en menores premios para los usuarios, que es lo que pasara si es que apuestan en una casa que tenga sucursal en el país, lo que no sucedería si es que lo hacen en una casa extranjera, ellos tendrían mejores premios”, señala.
