It is the 5 westernmost blocks of Fremont Street that was once known of "Glitter Gulch." Fremont Street is home to El Cortez Hotel & Casino, The D Casino & Hotel, Fremont Hotel & Casino, Four Queens Hotel & Casino, Binion's Gambling Hall & Hotel, Golden Nugget Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, and Circa Resort & Casino. Fremont Street dates back to 1905 when the city of Las Vegas was founded. Gambling license were issued to casinos on Fremont Street in 1931. In 1994, the Fremont Street Experience was built as a pedestrian mall and attraction. It is home to the SlotZilla Zipline Las Vegas. On Fremont Street, there are free nightly cover bands and DJ on three stages along the Fremont Street Experience. Fremont Street draws a huge crowd every weekend and it is the second most famous street in all of Las Vegas only behind Las Vegas Boulevard.
