Sharon Stone’s Oscar nomination Sharon Stone received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her role as Ginger McKenna, the troubled wife of De Niro’s character. 6. 3 hours runtime The film runs for about 178 minutes, making it one of Scorsese’s longest movies. 7. Real casino locations Many scenes were filmed in the Riviera Casino in Las Vegas, which allowed filming during off-hours for authenticity. 8. Voice-over narration The film uses dual voice-over narration (by De Niro and Pesci), a signature Scorsese technique to provide deeper insight into characters. 9. $50 million budget The movie had a production budget of about $50 million and grossed over $110 million worldwide. 10. Stylized violence and fashion Casino is famous for its brutal violence and detailed 1970s–80s fashion. Sharon Stone had over 40 costume changes, reflecting the glamorous yet tragic arc of her character.
